What We Do

— We Perform
We work tirelessly to make impact in our community and beyond. We entertain in
concerts, perform in weddings, birthday parties, cultural and community talent shows. We are happy to entertain the elders in the care homes to render therapeutic care. We are a joyful and courageous group. Our vision is to create wider opportunity to perform to our community and other.

— We Build Networks
As a dance performance-based group with the aim to undertake different approach to support young people through dancing to promote healthy lifestyle. With our goal being to keep youths safe and fit through dancing to reduce the rate of anti -social behaviour.
We bond as we meet weekly to socialise. We partner and support the activities of our community . We create and disseminate information through our Facebook group to know who is attending our concerts and for creating awareness.

— We Strengthen
There are worrying concerns of young adults’ future that parents face, such as
negative stereotyping, bullying, gaming addiction and low self-esteem. We are very
concerns about parents and community loosing teens to gangs due to anti-social
behaviours and night crimes.
We care, we do not just dance or help you put your best foot forward in this African
music infusion. We support the youths in skills development. We challenge impunity and address violation of vulnerable young adults.

— We Educate
Some of our dancers are gifted talented learners as the have abilities in creative arts
(designing, singing, dancing and acting. They are encouraged and empowered
young people to become confident reporters and actors. Dancers are taught morals
and its values. Guide them on role model and being role models.
This group brings together teens from diversified background with a common goal to
achieve greatness. For the language disadvantaged youths, we support
them savvy.

— We Provide Care
We care, we do not just dance or help you put your best foot forward in this African
music infusion. We support the youths in skills development. We challenge
impunity and address violation of vulnerable young adults. Confidence is everything.
Through dancing they learn to build their confidence, be focused in every task,
become innovative, communicate, and can make enthused decisions to work
effectively with members of the team.

— We Partner
During the Aberdeen festival, Afristyle took part in the MELA festival in 2019.
We worked in partnership with the Aberdeen multicultural centre, who produced and
delivered awesome cultural diversified dance outreach project. We have been featured in
front of over a hundred of spectators in Aberdeen. Evidences with photos, video
recordings, and feedbacks can be found on our social media accounts.
